about
Trivia for this song: it features harp played by Gillian Redmond. While I (Andy) was recording the harp I dropped a microphone and it left a sizable scratch on Gillian's beautiful, huge harp. I felt awful, but she was super cool about the whole thing.
lyrics
I tippy-toe across your window honey
I’ve gotta know what you’re thinking and feeling
Last night you turned me out but baby
I’m gunna crawl back in
Baby gunna crawl back in
Quick sneak to take a quick peak honey
Just to see you makes me shiver with pleasure
Last night you turned me out but baby
I’m gunna crawl back in
Baby gunna crawl and
Girl, you’re freaking me out now
I’m middle class
I’m civilised
But when you look at me and flash those pearly whites
You turn me into an animal
It’s strange to say but on the day you left me
You actually brought us closer together
Watching you through the window honey
I see a side of you that you never showed to me
My hands weren’t meant to type at a keyboard
My teeth weren’t meant to just chew muesli
The hunter-gatherer inside me baby
You bring it out in me
Honey wait and see
I’ve been repressed
Lobotomised
But when the drum plays in my head I come alive
You turn me into an animal
